Leg 1: Start of leg GR: SN585816
|
| With your back to Wetherspoons and the railway station, turn right, passing bus stops to reach the iron gates at the entrance to Plas Crug Avenue. Turn right into the Avenue and walk up this avenue laid out as a public promenade around 1880 and still remaining a plesant traffic free walk. Walk the 700 yards to reach Plascrug School and one end of the Aberystwyth Rugby Club pitch. |

| Immediately past school, turn right, cross railway line, then road at traffic lights. |
Leg 3: Start of leg GR: SN590810

| After crossing the road swing left and then follow the joint footpath and cycle track on your right. You will pass houses on your left before getting to the signboard announcing the Parc y llyn Nature Reserve, about 300 yard from when you crossed the road. Immediately before the board there is an earth path going right off the surfaced track. |

| Turn right to follow the earth track which takes you along a pleasant route through the Nature Reserve and the bank of the Afon Ystwyth. Keep right at all junctions until you again join the cycle track. |
Leg 5: Start of leg GR: SN594804

| Turn right on to the cycle track and walkway. After a few yards turn riight again to go under the bridge, Follow riverside track past University playing fields to a foot and cycleway bridge over the Afon Rheidol. |
Leg 6: Start of leg GR: SN601804

| Cross bridge and follow the joint footpath and cycle track around the cricket field to reach the main entrance to the cricket field and You are now in Coed Geufron. |
Leg 7: Start of leg GR: SN602802

| Just beyond the cricket field entrance, after about 20 yards, turn right off the track to follow a footpath. Cross a small stream, before bending right to reach a track serving a white painted house. |
Leg 8: Start of leg GR: SN602801

| Continue ahead on tarmac track to a hoousing estate to a proper road with adjoining houses. Follow the road to a T junction. Turn right at this junction and walk on until you meet the main road A4120. |
Leg 9: Start of leg GR: SN594802

| Turn onto the pavement on the right and walk down the hill to the steps just beyond the river bridge |
Leg 10: Start of leg GR: SN595803

| Go down the steps, turn right to go under the bridge then turn right to the steps which take you back up to the road. Use the pavement to recross the bridge and just after it turn turn right to go through the gate to the riverside path. This is the opposite side of the river from the one you followed earlier. Follow the riverside path past playing fields and allotments to reach a footbridge over river. |
Leg 11: Start of leg GR: SN590809

| Cross footbridge, and branch left towards road, and go left on the roadside footpath until you see the Aberystwyth Town sign and a footpath with cycleway on your left. |
Leg 12: Start of leg GR: SN588811

| Follow this along joint footpath cycleway along the riverside until you reach s suspension bridge. Do not cross. |
Leg 13: Start of leg GR: SN584812

| Walk along the pedestrian/cycle path past the suspension bridge and follow it around a short distance to emerge from the car park. Continue straight on along the street passing Heol Minafon/Riverside Terrace on your right. Continue the short distance until a footpath or cycleway leaves the road on its left. Either follow the footpath to retrace your earlier route, in the reverse direction, to the promenade and the bandstand. Or keep right on the road to the junction a short distance away and turn right to go into the town. |

| Continue a hundred yards or so keeping keeping right where a joint footpath and cycleway leaves the road on the left and proceed the few yards to the main road junction.Turn right to go into the town and your starting point |
